CIS of Chicago partners with corporate groups, organizations, and individuals who are passionate about supporting Chicago students. We offer several opportunities for companies – and their employees – to engage in our impactful work.
Inspire Chicago's Next Generation of Leaders
We are looking for companies across the city to host CIS students for career-focused field trips!
Called ‘Inspiring Futures,’ these field trips expose our students to different work environments and career opportunities, inspiring them to set goals and dream big.
Why Host Inspiring Futures?
Participating companies have the opportunity to:
- Connect employees with a meaningful volunteer opportunity.
- Showcase their industry and career pathways.
- Help students see what's possible for their future!
How Does It Work?
Our team will bring 10-20 students from a CPS school to your company’s office for a two-hour session. Students will receive a brief tour of your space, then we will facilitate a goal-setting activity for you and up to 30 of your colleagues. We’ll coordinate the logistics and activities, making it a light lift for your team. The visit will conclude after a shared lunch.
What is the experience like for students and volunteers?
Turner-Drew Language Academy, a CIS partner for 30+ years, recently participated in Inspiring Futures at Builders Vision, and their counselor, Ms. Mary Terhune, was enthusiastic about the experience.
“For many students, this was their first time in a workspace like [Builders Vision], and they walked away with a new view of their own potential,” she said. One key takeaway she shared: Students felt genuinely welcomed and seen in a corporate space.

CIS of Chicago is always looking for school supplies and other basic essentials (like hygiene items) to support our students, schools, and families. If you or your company are interested in learning more, please reach out to the CIS team.
