CIS of Chicago CEO Jane Mentzinger sat down with CBS to discuss our organization’s recent announcement of MacKenzie Scott’s $4 million gift. This gift helps CIS of Chicago continue serving more than 50,000 Chicago Public Schools students.
“I think this gift, first of all, is a validation of the work that Communities In Schools of Chicago does across the city. I think it means that we can continue to do the work that we’re doing connecting resources to students like counseling, mentoring, college and career planning, and arts and enrichment programming – all the kinds of services that students need to succeed in school and in life,” Mentzinger said, “and this gift means that we can do that.”
