Chicago Tribune: Middle Schoolers Write about Violence in Their Communities

This May, two Chicago students were recognized by Do the Write Thing for their essays on the impact of youth violence. Over 800 essays from across the city were submitted to this year’s Do the Write Thing challenge, and the top two essays will be bound and placed in the Library of Congress.

Do the Write Thing Chicago, a writing program for middle school students that positions them as community catalysts, is co-chaired by Latham & Watkins and Communities In Schools of Chicago.
